ANNE G. and G. THOMAS “Tom” MILLER, members of “The Greatest Generation”, were married for sixty-three years. From the outset, a strong commitment to community and public service was a hallmark of their remarkable union.
Tom Miller was a United States Army officer in WWII and the Korean conflict. He was a preeminent Harrisburg attorney, an interim Common Pleas Court judge and a long-term member of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
He graduated from Gettysburg College and the Dickinson School of Law and served on the Board of Trustees of both institutions.
Tom was a former Chairman of the Dauphin County Democratic Party, a township supervisor and an enthusiastic member of the Civil War Roundtable. In 2013, Tom died at age 90.
Anne G. Miller graduated from Hood College in Frederick MD, followed by a graduate fellowship in physiology at Vassar College. She also served as a board trustee of her alma mater. A full-time mother, Anne was an active member of many community boards and remains today, a tireless conservationist with a strong voice for land preservation, open space and clean water. A great lover of nature and wildlife, she continues to live on their Pennsylvania farm where she is a zealous gardener within her extensive arboretum.
The three Miller children: Leslie (Rich Worley), Sarah Miller Coulson (Frank L. Coulson, Jr. dec’d), and Thomas R. (Brett) and granddaughter, Alexandra, carry on the family tradition of service and philanthropy.

SCOTT M. WRIGHT, MD received his medical degree from McGill University, and completed his internal medicine residency training at McGill’s Montreal General Hospital. He came to Johns Hopkins in 1995 for training in medical education as part of the General Internal Medicine Fellowship. He joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 1997 and became Professor of Medicine in 2008. With colleagues, he established the Miller-Coulson Academy of Clinical Excellence in 2009, and since then he has been serving as its Director. In 2011, Scott succeeded one of his mentors, Dr. David Kern, to become the Director of the Division of General Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
