School of Nursing
Johns Hopkins All Children's HospitalPatient Safety and Quality

Established in 2019 by Catherine and Eric Kobren

CATHERINE and ERIC KOBREN have a long history of supporting an academic, data-driven approach to children’s health.

Catherine has devoted herself to improving and supporting pediatric health care. She was the founding chairwoman for A Woman’s Journey, an annual women’s health seminar, upon its adoption in Sarasota and continued as chairwoman to sellout crowds for several years.

Eric founded several investment and health related businesses, including Fidelity Insight, Kobren Insight Management and MediRegs. He enjoys his work as a trustee for John’s Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, which he joined in 2011 as All Children’s integrated with the Johns Hopkins Health System. He chairs both the Finance and Investment Committees for the Board. While living in Boston, Eric was active at Boston Children’s Hospital for more than two decades. He was a founder of the Boston Children’s Hospital Trust and served as a hospital trustee. Among their gifts to Boston Children’s, Catherine and Eric funded a statistician in cardiology and endowed a chair in patient safety. Eric received his BBA from Baruch College, CUNY and his MBA from Columbia University.

The Kobrens’ passion and commitment to pediatric health care and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital remains as strong as ever. Residing in Sarasota, they have been blessed with four healthy grandchildren in the past three years.
