Anthony N. Kalloo

KallooAnthonyANTHONY N. KALLOO, the Moses and Helen Golden Paulson Professor of Gastroenterology, is a professor in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. His special interests include therapeutic endoscopy, sphincter of Oddi dysfunction and Natural Orifice Translumenal Endoscopic Surgery. Dr. Kalloo joined the Hopkins faculty in 1988. He is founder and past medical director of the Hopkins Gastroenterology and Hepatology Resources Center, a 3,000-page multi-lingual web resource for patients and physicians. The holder of multiple patents, including the use of Botulinum toxin in the gastrointestinal tract, endoscopic cryotherapy and the winged biliary/pancreatic stent, Dr. Kalloo is the pioneer of natural orifice surgery, a technique to enable abdominal surgery without the use of incisions.
