Barry Gordon

GordonBarryBARRY GORDON, A&S 1981, (PhD), the Therapeutic Cognitive Neuroscience Professor, is a behavioral neurologist and cognitive neuroscientist with expertise in experimental and neuropsychology. He is a founding member of the Mind/Brain Institute and directs the Division of Cognitive Neurology/Neuropsychology and the Memory Clinic, which he also founded. Former president of the Behavioral Neurology Society and Division of the American Academy of Neurology, Dr. Gordon has authored more than 100 papers and book chapters. His book Memory: Remembering and Forgetting in Everyday Life was a selection of the Book-of-the-Month Club. His interests are in memory and language, particularly early detection and treatment of memory loss and Alzheimer’s disease; communication and language deficits in autism; direct brain mapping of language and memory functions; aphasia; and head injury. He joined the faculty in 1977.
