Bruce A. Perler

PerlerBruceBRUCE A. PERLER, the inaugural Julius H. Jacobson II, M.D., Professor of Vascular Surgery, joined the Hopkins faculty in 1982 and became a full professor in 1997. He has directed the Vascular Noninvasive Laboratory since 1982 and was named chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery in 2002. In addition to his longstanding interest in cerebrovascular disease, Dr. Perler’s clinical interests include aortic and peripheral aneurysms, renal and mesenteric occlusive disease, limb salvage revascularization and thrombolytic therapy. In 2001 he received the Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award from the surgical house staff. In 2004 he was elected president of the Eastern Vascular Society, the largest vascular society in the United States.
