Craig W. Hendrix

CRAIG W. HENDRIX, Osler Housestaff (1984-1986), Infectious Diseases & Clinical Pharmacology Fellow (1986-1989), the Wellcome Professor of Clinical Pharmacology, is Director of the Division of Clinical Pharmacology, and Professor of Medicine,  Pharmacology and Molecular Sciences, and Epidemiology. His research is focused on the development of drugs for HIV prevention. His research contributed significantly to the demonstrated efficacy of tenofovir/emtricitabine and dapivirine for HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis. Dr. Hendrix has served on expert committees for the UN Department of Peace-Keeping Operations, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control, and the National Academy of Medicine.

Among his honors are the Meritorious Service Medal (US Air Force), Johns Hopkins Alumni Association Excellence in Teaching Award, David M. Levine Faculty Mentoring Award, and the PhRMA Foundation Award in Excellence.
