J.J. Suh

SuhJJJ.J. SUH, the inaugural Korea Foundation Visiting Professor of Korean Studies, began teaching at SAIS in the Fall of 2007. Dr. Suh’s research interests include military alliances, regionalization, U.S. security policy, weapons of mass destruction, Asian security, and Korea. He studied at Seoul National University and at the University of Chicago, where he received his BA degree in physics. Dr. Suh subsequently received his MA and his PhD in political science from the University of Pennsylvania. Since 2000, he has been assistant professor in the Department of Government at Cornell University. He is the author of many articles and of a forthcoming book on the U.S.-Republic of Korea alliance.
