Jakub Grygiel

JAKUB GRYGIEL, the inaugural George H.W. Bush Professor of International Relations, joined the SAIS faculty in 2003. Dr. Grygiel is also an international affairs columnist for Giornale del Popolo in Switzerland and Il Mondo in Italy, and has written on the end of communism, the revival of Russian nationalism and other topics related to the history, economics and politics of Central and Eastern Europe. He has served as a consultant to the World Bank and Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and as editor of the Journal of Public and International Affairs. Dr. Grygiel received his PhD in politics from Princeton University and is the author of Great Powers and Geopolitical Change and Imperial Allies.
