James F. Casella
JAMES F. CASELLA, the Rainey Professor of Pediatric Hematology, supervises several labs investigating the cellular and molecular basis of pediatric blood-borne diseases. Dr. Casella is seeking to develop a mouse model for further evaluation of new therapies, using techniques of molecular biology. A member of the faculty since 1983, he has been awarded the Alexander “Buck” Schaffer Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Teaching of House Officers. He directs the Johns Hopkins/St. Agnes Comprehensive Hemophilia Clinic, which he created with a colleague to improve care for patients with the disease.
