Jonathan Ira Epstein

JONATHAN IRA EPSTEIN, the inaugural Rose-Lee and Keith Reinhard Professor in Urologic Pathology, completed his postdoctoral training at Johns Hopkins and is currently director of the Division of Surgical Pathology and professor of pathology, urology and oncology. Areas of particular interest are prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia, adenosis, diagnosis of limited adenocarcinoma on needle biopsy, and prediction of progression following radical prostatectomy. He is primary consultant to the Urologic Pathology Laboratory, a nationally recognized center for the study of urological disorders, which Dr. Epstein helped found. He lectures widely, has written more than 240 articles and several books, and has received the Arthur Purdy Stout Surgical Pathology Prize and the American Cancer Society Clinical Oncology Career Development Award.
