Jonathan S. Lewin

JONATHAN S. LEWIN, the Martin W. Donner Professor of Radiology, joined the Hopkins School of Medicine in May 2004 as director of the Department of Radiology and radiologist-in-chief of The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Certified in radiology and neuroradiology by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Lewin is a pioneer in interventional magnetic resonance imaging, a new technology that uses MRI to guide surgery and minimally invasive procedures for the treatment of cancer, vascular disease, and other disorders, and has had numerous government and industry grants for the development of software and hardware for this emerging discipline. He has published more than 165 original articles and 40 book chapters and invited reviews on a number of areas of basic and applied MRI research. Dr. Lewin also has 18 issued or pending patents related to MRI applications.
