Michael E. Mandelbaum

MICHAEL E. MANDELBAUM, the Christian A. Herter Professor of American Foreign Policy, directs the American Foreign Policy Program. Dr. Mandelbaum is the author of five books, including The Dawn of Peace in Europe. In addition to his many years as a teacher of political science, government, and foreign policy, he has served on the U.S. Council on Foreign Relations as director of the Project on East-West Relations. He has been on the SAIS faculty since 1990.
