Shelby Kutty
SHELBY KUTTY, MD, PhD, MHCM is the Helen B. Taussig Professor and the Director of the Taussig Heart Center at Johns Hopkins Medicine. Dr. Kutty trained in pediatrics and cardiology at premier institutions, earned a Masters in Healthcare Management from Harvard, and is an Aresty Scholar of the Wharton School. A national expert in multimodality cardiovascular imaging with an established track record of extramural research funding, his areas of academic interest have focused on functional assessment of congenital heart disease, theranostic ultrasound, and cardiovascular outcomes. He has coauthored over 180 peer reviewed journal articles and over 250 abstracts, and has mentored several dozens of trainees and junior faculty. His contributions have led to increased understanding of right heart function in congenital heart disease, and to development of the field of pediatric theranostic ultrasound.
