Stephen C. Yang

STEPHEN C. YANG, the inaugural Arthur B. and Patricia B. Modell Professor of Thoracic Surgery, joined The Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1994. He is currently professor of surgery and medical oncology in the School of Medicine. In 2001, he was named chief of Thoracic Surgery. His research interests include using molecular techniques to screen for lung cancer and to identify the molecular staging of micrometastasis in order to predict cancer recurrence following surgical resection. Dr. Yang is the recipient of many honors and awards, among them the 1996 William F. Rienhoff Award for teaching and research at Johns Hopkins. In 2008 he received the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Dean’s Faculty Award for Clinical Teaching.
