Steven Salzberg

STEVEN SALZBERG develops novel methods for analysis of DNA and RNA sequences, including software for aligning and assembling RNA-seq data, whole-genome assembly, and microbiome analysis. He was a participant in the Human Genome Project, where he and his colleagues sequenced some of the first genomes and, later, the anthrax that was used in the 2001 anthrax attacks.
