David Hall McConnell Professorship in Urology

DAVID HALL McCONNELL (right), Mrs. Duberg’s father, was founder of the Avon Corporation. H.P. JOHN DUBERG (pictured below) and his wife, DORYS McCONNELL DUBERG, in addition to establishing this professorship, endowed fellowships at the Brady Urological Institute, made possible the renovation of the Marburg Building in order to provide for relocation of the institute, and contributed generously and frequently toward the purchase of much-needed laboratory equipment.

Both Admiral and Mrs. Duberg were patients of Dr. W.W. Scott, whose diagnosis and care they credited with having saved their lives. When Mrs. Duberg died, Admiral Duberg established the Dorys McConnell Duberg Trust in her memory. He died in 1990. This trust and continued generosity from Admiral Duberg have provided essential support for the research mission of the Brady Urological Institute. Mrs. Duberg’s son, JOHN B. FAILE, also contributed to this endowment.
