John and Diane Cooke Professorship in Chinese History
Former university trustee JOHN COOKE is president and chief executive officer of Western Territories Group, LLC. Previously, he was executive vice president for external affairs at the J. Paul Getty Trust and also served as a senior executive at the Walt Disney Company for 15 years. He was integrally involved with Hopkins for many years as chair of the Krieger School’s Villa Spelman Advisory Council, as a founding member of the National Development Council for the school, and as a member of the advisory council of The Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, its Bologna (Italy) Center, and the Hopkins-Nanjing Center for Chinese and American Studies.
DIANE COOKE, his wife, taught middle-school English for 16 years and currently holds positions on a number of non-profit boards primarily serving the needs of women and children.
