Andelot Professorship in Laryngology and Otology
LAMMOT DU PONT COPELAND of Wilmington, Delaware, was the last du Pont to head his family’s firm, E. I. du Pont de Nemours & Company. Keenly interested in supporting research concerning reproductive biology and world population growth, he established a trust, in 1958, to benefit the Johns Hopkins Department of Biology. In addition to providing for that trust and the Andelot Professorship, Mr. Copeland was also a generous contributor to the John Eager Howard Chair in Endocrinology. Mr. Copeland was a patient of Hopkins otolaryngologist John Bordley, the first holder of this chair.
