Michael J. Cudahy Professorship in Cardiology

CudahyMichael“The real answers to our health care problems lie in research,” says MICHAEL J. CUDAHY, a Milwaukee entrepreneur whose endowment of this professorship supports research that holds promise for the early diagnosis and prevention of cardiac disease. Mr. Cudahy co-founded a small electronic instruments company, Marquette Electronics, and soon developed the nation’s first central electrocardiographic system at Northwestern University Medical School. The groundbreaking system was subsequently installed in almost every major medical institution in the United States, including Johns Hopkins. The company, now GE Medical Systems Health Care Technologies, produces medical diagnostic, monitoring and clinical information systems for health care providers in more than 67 countries.
