A retired neurosurgeon, Dr. REZA KHATIB was inspired to support advancements in the neurosciences after witnessing others suffering from a particularly devastating type of brain cancer, glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). In addition to his contributions as a physician-scientist, Dr. Khatib has dedicated his life to philanthropic efforts that push the boundaries of excellence in the neurosciences through his support of not only Johns Hopkins Medicine, but also other medical institutions in the US as well as internationally.

Dr. Khatib’s transformational philanthropic partnership with Johns Hopkins University and Medicine includes the Reza Khatib, M.D. Endowed Professorship in Neurosurgery, the Reza Khatib, M.D. Endowed International Fellowship, and the Reza Khatib, M.D. Brain Tumor Research Center in the Department of Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins University, which he will support in perpetuity through his foundation.
