Sachin N. Pradhan, M.D., Ph.D., & Sikta Pradhan, Ph.D., Professorship in Spine Surgery

SIKTA PRADHAN, Ph.D., a biochemical pharmacologist, worked at the National Institute of Health for several years with Nobel Laureate, Dr. C.B. Anfinsen, on Interferon. She later joined the Food and Drug Administration where she was engaged in the evaluation and establishment of generic psychotherapeutic drugs.

SACHIN N. PRADHAN, M.D., Ph.D., a neuropsychopharmacologist, became a distinguished professor of pharmacology at the Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He was a gifted teacher and skilled researcher. He left a legacy of philanthropy in their home country of India, having established the S.N. Pradhan Centre for Neurosciences research facility at the University of Calcutta, in 1998.

Other past philanthropic support from Sachin and Sikta Pradhan has demonstrated their commitment to education and biomedical research throughout their careers. The Nandigram Bhutnath Pradhan Institute of Technology and the Khodambari Bhutnath Pradhan High School, both in India, as well as the Suburban Hospital Foundation in Bethesda, Maryland have all benefited from their generosity.
