Wilson E. Schmidt Distinguished Professorship
ERIC SCHMIDT, former executive chairman of Alphabet Inc (formerly Google Inc.) has strong ties to the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and to Bologna. His father Wilson Emerson Schmidt (pictured left) taught graduate courses in Economics and Development at the SAIS Bologna Center in the ’60s.
Upon the launch of the Henry A. Kissinger Center for Global Affairs, Eric and his wife WENDY established the Wilson E. Schmidt Distinguished Professorship to support a senior faculty member at SAIS Europe in Bologna who will collaborate with other Kissinger Center faculty members.
