ROBERT B. FEDUNIAK was born in San Francisco and raised in Southern California. He graduated from Stanford University with bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and physics in 1969, and then received a master’s degree in physics from the University of California Berkeley in 1971. He switched careers in 1972 and moved to New York to work in financial services. He was a managing director at Morgan Stanley from 1984 to 1995 and a management committee member from 1986 to 1995. He founded Morgan Stanley’s commodities department, served as chief administration officer, and was the firm’s first head of global risk management. He served on numerous financial industry boards of directors and co-authored the book Futures Trading.
MAUREEN FEDUNIAK was born and raised in England. She moved to New York in 1973, where she enjoyed a career in the hospitality industry for twenty years. Maureen and Bob have lived in Las Vegas since 1997. They are both active recreational poker players and consider themselves fortunate to have participated in poker’s dramatic growth in popularity during the past decade. More importantly, they have become involved in providing support for children in foster care who face especially daunting challenges in Las Vegas. The Feduniaks have four grown children and seven grandchildren, all of whom live in the New York City area. They enjoy traveling, tending to their garden, and caring for their three rescued dogs.
In recognition of their long friendship and to show their admiration for his work, the Feduniaks requested that this endowed professorship also bear the name of Dr. David L. Guyton, the Zanvyl Krieger Professor of Pediatric Ophthalmology and director of the Krieger Children’s Eye Center at the Wilmer Eye Institute.
