Sunshine Natural Wellbeing Foundation Professorship in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Related Disorders

School of Medicine

Established in 2007 by a gift from the Sunshine Natural Wellbeing Foundation

Held by Peter C. Rowe

PETER C. ROWE, the inaugural Sunshine Natural Wellbeing Foundation Professor of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Related Disorders, leads the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Related Disorders Research Program at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. Dr. Rowe, who joined the faculty in 1991 and is now a professor of pediatrics, served his internship (1981-84), postdoctoral fellowship (1984-86), and was chief resident (1986-87) at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Rowe’s inherent ability to understand and deliver treatment options to suffering patients has dramatically changed the face of chronic fatigue syndrome. His comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to understanding the relationship of orthostatic intolerance to fatigued Gulf War veterans, cancer survivors, and children with gastrointestinal symptoms has allowed him to expand his care to this vulnerable patient population.
